CSI Christ Church Toronto is conducting Malayalam language classes which will enable participants to learn and communicate in our mother tongue, Malayalam, one of the popular South Indian languages. The class is named ‘Aksharamaala’.

‘Aksharamaala’ currently consists of junior and senior classes. The classes are held after Sunday worship services for duration of 30 minutes and are conducted from September to June. Junior class students are learning the alphabets and the senior class have embarked on reading and conversing in Malayalam through various class activities. The program is offered to all who are interested to learn the language. Recently the doors were opened to a Ph.D. student of Canadian origin who expressed interest to learn the language. The resources used to support the Program are: Websites- Malayalam Tutor, Malayalam Fonts and Books-Bible (Malayalam) and CSI order of worship book. The teaching strategies that are in place are: One on one teaching, Independent learning, motivation and peer teaching. Participants are assessed and evaluated by regular class quizzes and exams. The language Class is offered free of cost and is supported by volunteers of the CSI Christ Church Toronto.
